Please supervise small children around the fireplace and the two upstairs balconies.
SH4 is a busy road and cars and trucks heading down the hill often exceed the speed limit. We recommend that you keep the gate closed if you have small children.
Going both ways, it is a common occurrence for yoyos to pull out and pass away from the passing lane so please take care when entering or leaving the driveway.
In winter, heavy frosts are common: please clear your car windows of ice and frost before departing for the day – we already have enough statistics on this part of the road.
The local council is pretty good about getting the grit trucks out when there is ice on the roads but please take care anyway. Especial risky areas are the numerous small bridges (including the railway overbridges which often are still icy after midday.
Children are welcome to play on the chalet section however there are some blackberry growths that should be treated with caution. Please also note that the fence between the Chalet and the garage is electric – safe for people and animals but will make eyes go big and wide if unexpected.
The second strand of the fence (from the bottom) on the downhill side of the Chaelt is electrified to keep stock in, as is the fence running away from the back of the Chalet.
